Well, let the terror continue.
Today I (hopefully) glued her scalp on. I won't know if it took until tomorrow, because I have to let it cure for a day. Bleah. I really wish that I'd done the scalp on my first custom, instead of this one. I've learned so much, like, I need a full package of rubber bands next time.
Well, I had to change her pull charms last night. Ugh, it's good, though, if she's going to have any problems, I want them to happen right now, so I can fix her. Well, I was pulling on her pull, and of course, the charm broke. So I pulled her apart, and replaced the string and the charms. This time, I've reinforced the charm itself with superglue (no superglue on Blythe, only on the string and charm). Soooo...hopefully, no coming loose. Upside is, I changed it to the charm I wanted anyways! ^-^
So after fixing that at midnight on an empty stomach (>.<), I let her sit for a night. This morning, I prepped for hair!
First, I made sure there were as few strands of mohair sitting on the scalp edge as possible. Then, I got all my tools prepped.
I did this right in front of a sliding door, which I made sure was wide open (yes Lucky, go hang outside for a little while), and I wore a mask.
(which I'm sure someone will now tell me I was wearing incorrectly). After that, I put glue on both the scalp, and the top of her dome. I hopefully put just the right amount, I really didn't want any squeezing out.
Then I let them 'cure' for 2 minutes as per instructions. Only a little squeezed out, and hopefully, there's enough coverage to hold well.
Then, the rubber bands!!
*crossing fingers* I really hope nothing goes wrong!
It's been a lot of fun working on her. She's coming along nicely. She would probably be finished sooner, except I'm such a perfectionist. If it's not done to my satisfaction, I will redo the whole thing.
Here she is before the hair, (hoping this is how she stays)
I'm already scoping out ebay for my next victim. I've already ordered mo'hair, lol!
Thinking about getting a Nicky Lad for custom. Maybe a sweet, sweet Mori Girl Blythe? What do people do with all these stock eyechips?? O.O Sigh...
